The official language in civil proceedings in Lithuania is the Lithuanian language.
This means that the Lithuanian language will be used in the trial. All court documents, including protocols of hearings and judgment will also be prepared in Lithuanian. Your submissions and evidence to the court must also be in Lithuanian or translated into Lithuanian
If you do not speak or understand Lithuanian sufficiently, you can ask the court for an interpreter free of charge. The interpreter must help you to participate in court proceedings and to familiarize yourself with the case materials.
