Your name is a part of your identity and, therefore, it should be permanent. This means that it should not be changed without good reason. However, under certain circumstances you and your parents may change your name.

After 18 years of age
If you have reached 18 years of age, you have the right to change your name. You have to bear in mind that this can only be done in certain situations. These situations are provided in the Rules for Changing a Person 's Name and Surname.
